Instantly.ai Integration

In this guide, you'll learn how to connect Instantly.ai to MasterInbox using either an API Key or OAuth, configure Do Not Contact (DNC) settings, synchronize labels, configure prospect sync options, and complete the integration.

MasterInbox supports two ways to connect Instantly.ai:

  • API Integration – Connect using your Instantly.ai API Key.

  • OAuth Integration – Connect securely using your Instantly.ai account credentials.

Connecting Instantly.ai with MasterInbox allows you to:

  • Configure Do Not Contact (DNC) settings

  • Sync exclusions from Instantly.ai

  • Synchronize labels between Instantly.ai and MasterInbox

  • Sync prospect enrichment and campaign data

  • Manage replies from one centralized inbox

Connect Using API Key

Step 1: Generate Your Instantly.ai API Key

Before connecting, you'll need an API Key from Instantly.ai.

  1. Log in to your Instantly.ai account.

  2. Go to Settings → Integrations → API Keys.

  3. Click Create API Key.

  4. Enter a descriptive name for the key (for example, MasterInbox Integration).

  5. Select the appropriate API scope.

Understanding API Scopes

Scopes determine what your API key can access.

For example:

  • A limited scope may only allow reading contacts or campaigns.

  • all:all provides full access to every available API endpoint.

Note: Only use the all:all scope if you fully trust the integration, as it grants complete access to your Instantly.ai account.

  1. Save your API Key.

  2. Copy the generated API Key.

Step 2: Add the Integration in MasterInbox

  1. Open MasterInbox.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Integrations.

  4. Choose Instantly.ai.

  5. Paste your API Key.

  6. Enter your Instantly.ai API URL (if required).

  7. Click Continue.

Next Steps

Once your API Key has been successfully validated, you'll be taken to the integration configuration page.

From there, you can configure your integration settings, including:

  • Do Not Contact (DNC) labels

  • Exclusion sync

  • Label synchronization

  • Prospect sync options, including Enrich Prospect and Campaign Data

After configuring your preferred settings, click Submit to complete the integration.

Connect Using OAuth2

OAuth allows you to securely connect your Instantly.ai account without manually generating an API Key or manually uploading your mailboxes.

Step 1: Sign In

  1. Open MasterInbox.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Integrations.

  4. Choose Instantly.ai (OAuth).

  5. Enter your Instantly.ai email address.

  6. Enter your Instantly.ai password.

  7. Click Next.

Step 2: Select an Organization

After signing in, choose the Instantly.ai organization you want to connect.

MasterInbox will use the selected organization to sync mailboxes, replies, labels, and prospect data.

Click Next to continue.

Configure Do Not Contact (DNC)

Select the labels that should be treated as Do Not Contact (DNC) labels.

Prospects assigned one of these labels will automatically be recognized as Do Not Contact inside MasterInbox.

What is DNC?

DNC (Do Not Contact) helps ensure that prospects who have opted out of communication are never contacted again.

Using DNC labels helps you:

  • Prevent emailing opted-out prospects

  • Protect your sender reputation

  • Stay compliant with client and outreach policies

  • Avoid accidental follow-up messages

Example

If a prospect replies:

"Please don't contact me again."

and receives one of your selected DNC labels, MasterInbox will recognize the prospect as Do Not Contact and prevent future outreach.

Configure Exclusion Sync

Enable Sync Exclusions if you want exclusions from Instantly.ai to sync into MasterInbox.

This helps keep exclusion lists synchronized across both platforms and ensures excluded prospects remain excluded.

Configure Label Sync

Choose how labels should sync between Instantly.ai and MasterInbox.

Available options include:

You can also choose to:

  • Sync selected labels

  • Sync all labels

Keeping labels synchronized ensures consistent lead organization across both platforms.

Configure Prospect Sync

Choose which additional prospect information should sync into MasterInbox.

Enrich Prospect

When enabled, MasterInbox automatically imports additional prospect information from Instantly.ai.

Campaign Data

When enabled, campaign information is synchronized into MasterInbox.

If you manage multiple clients or frequently work with overlapping prospects, it's recommended to keep Campaign Data turned OFF. This helps avoid confusion when the same prospect appears across multiple campaigns.

Complete the Integration

Once you've finished configuring your settings, click Submit to complete the integration.

Final Result

Once connected:

  • Your Instantly.ai account is connected to MasterInbox.

  • Replies begin syncing automatically.

  • DNC settings are applied.

  • Exclusions remain synchronized between platforms.

  • Labels sync according to your selected configuration.

  • Prospect enrichment and campaign data sync automatically.

  • Your Instantly.ai campaigns can now be managed from within MasterInbox.

Your Instantly.ai integration is now complete.
