Configure Agent Follow-ups
In this guide, you'll learn how to enable automatic follow-ups, create multi-step follow-up sequences, configure follow-up delays, use reply templates with variables, and automate follow-up emails until a prospect responds.
What are Reply Agent Follow-ups?
Reply Agent Follow-ups allow your AI agent to automatically send follow-up messages when a prospect hasn't replied.
Instead of manually remembering when to follow up, you can configure a sequence of follow-up steps that are sent automatically after a specified number of days.
Follow-ups stop automatically once the prospect replies.
Enable Reply Agent Follow-ups
Go to Settings.
Open Reply Agents.
Create a new Reply Agent or edit an existing one.
Scroll to Advance Options.
Enable Handle Follow-ups.
Once enabled, the Follow-up configuration section becomes available.
Creating Follow-up Steps
A follow-up sequence is made up of one or more follow-up steps.
Each step contains:
A delay
A follow-up message
There is no limit to the number of follow-up steps you can create.
Configure Follow-up Delays
Each follow-up step includes a Days field.
This determines how many days MasterInbox should wait before sending the follow-up if the prospect hasn't replied.
Example
Follow-up 1
Send after 2 days
Follow-up 2
Send after 5 days
Follow-up 3
Send after 10 days
Each follow-up is sent only if the prospect has not responded to the previous message.
Create the Follow-up Message
Each follow-up step includes its own message template.
Write the message you want the Reply Agent to send when that step is reached.
Every follow-up can have completely different messaging depending on your outreach strategy.
Using Variables
Follow-up templates support variables that automatically personalize every message.
Available variables include:
Prospect Name
Prospect First Name
Prospect Email
Sender Name
Sender First Name
Sender Last Name
Variables are automatically replaced with the correct values when the follow-up is sent.
Managing Follow-up Steps
You can:
Add new follow-up steps
Edit existing follow-up messages
Change follow-up delays
Delete follow-up steps
Reorder your follow-up strategy by updating each step
This allows you to continuously improve your outreach sequence without creating a new Reply Agent.
When Do Follow-ups Stop?
Reply Agent Follow-ups stop automatically when:
The prospect replies to the conversation.
No additional follow-up messages will be sent unless the conversation becomes eligible again based on your workflow.
