Log dialer call outcomes on the lead with an incoming webhook

Point your dialer or Zapier at a Master Inbox incoming webhook. Each call outcome updates the lead, maps the outcome to a custom field and labels the thread Called.

Why teams run it

Everyone can see who was called, when and what happened, next to the email history.

Set it up in Master Inbox

  1. In Master Inbox, open Settings, then Workflows, and click Add a workflow.
  2. Name it Log dialer call outcomes on the lead with an incoming webhook.
  3. Set the trigger to Incoming Webhook and choose Your dialer posts the email, phone and call outcome.
  4. Add the action Add labels: Called.
  5. Add the action Notify in Slack: Post the outcome and thread link to #calls.
  6. Save the workflow and switch it to Active.

Before you start, connect Slack under Settings, Integrations.

Sending data in from another tool

The Incoming Webhook trigger is set up in the app: Master Inbox gives the workflow its own URL, you send one sample payload from your tool, then map its keys to prospect fields. After that, your tool posts to that URL and the workflow runs. Everything else in the workflow is also in the API.

Questions

How do I set up the incoming webhook?

In the app, generate the workflow's URL, send one sample payload and map each key to a lead field or custom variable.

Which part is set up in the app?

The incoming webhook trigger itself, because it needs a sample payload to map. The actions after it work like any other workflow.
