Why trust this list?
This list is written by the Master Inbox team and reviewed by our founder, Abdul Mukati. Every feature and price for the other five tools comes from that vendor's own pages, read on 28 October 2026, and the sources are listed at the bottom. Master Inbox is one of the six options, and we say so up front. We state only what each vendor publishes, we phrase limits as neutral facts, we leave out ratings, and where a vendor's page does not show a price in a form we can confirm, we describe the pricing model and point you to the page. Each tool here is strong at the job it was built for, and Smartlead is a tool many of our customers use every day.
Why teams look for Smartlead Master Inbox alternatives
Smartlead is a cold email platform with sequencing, mailbox rotation, warmup and unlimited email accounts on every plan. Its inbox, which it calls the Master Inbox, shows replies to Smartlead campaigns in one place. Teams usually start comparing for one of three reasons.
Two products share one name
People search "masterinbox" or "smartlead master inbox" and land in either place. Smartlead's Master Inbox is a feature inside Smartlead. Master Inbox at masterinbox.com is a different company and a standalone product that connects to Smartlead and to other tools. The overlap in the name is a coincidence, and the two products fit together well. The longer explanation is in Master Inbox vs Smartlead.
Replies from more than one sending tool
Smartlead's help center describes the Inbox tab as showing the leads that replied to Smartlead campaigns. A team that also sends with Instantly, EmailBison or a LinkedIn tool often wants one unified inbox across all of them. That is the main reason people look at the options below.
Labels, routing and clients
Smartlead lets you tag replies by sentiment or context and assign them to teammates. Some teams also want AI intent labels on every reply, hot replies routed to Slack and the CRM, and a login for each client. The tools below take different routes to that. Our cold email reply management guide shows the full workflow.

1. Master Inbox
Master Inbox at masterinbox.com is the reply management platform for outbound teams and agencies: one unified inbox for every sequencer, LinkedIn tool and inbound form, with AI labeling and AI reply agents. It is a separate product from Smartlead's built-in Master Inbox, and it connects to Smartlead through the Smartlead integration.
Key features
- Unibox: one AI-labeled inbox for Smartlead, Instantly, EmailBison, Reply.io, Lemlist, HeyReach, Expandi, Aimfox and more. It reads the mailboxes themselves, so it also threads forwards, CC replies and new-address replies that a sequencer's own inbox does not show.
- AI labeling: every email and LinkedIn reply labeled by intent as it lands, with thirteen default labels or your own taxonomy, on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter key.
- Workflows: label-triggered actions inside the inbox, such as Slack cards with an approve button, HubSpot sync, stopping the sequence on a booked meeting and webhooks. No Zapier needed.
- Client workspaces: one workspace per client with its own mailboxes, labels, members and limits, cloned in one click, with client logins scoped to their inbox only.
- Reply Agents: answer every outbound reply, follow up and book meetings on your real calendar, human-in-the-loop first and autonomous when you are ready.
- LinkedIn Inbox, API and reporting: HeyReach, Expandi and Aimfox threaded next to email per prospect, a REST API with 150+ endpoints and webhooks on every plan, and SLA tracking on every reply.
Pricing
Master Inbox is never priced per seat. Plans scale with connected mailboxes and client workspaces, and every plan includes unlimited users. Full details are on the pricing page.
| Plan | Price | Built for |
|---|---|---|
| Reply Agent | From $499 per month | Reply agents that answer, follow up and book meetings |
| Agency | $599 per month | Agencies, with up to 3,000 mailboxes and 15 client workspaces |
| Team | $799 per month | Sales teams, with up to 2,000 mailboxes |
Agencies with fewer than 5 clients can start on The Ramp at $299 a month. Larger plans are listed on the pricing page. Every plan starts with a free 7-day POC, and onboarding is done with you.
Pros
- Replies from every sending tool and from LinkedIn land in one queue, labeled by intent.
- Unlimited users on every plan, so adding a rep or a client manager does not change the bill.
- Master Inbox internal data shows roughly 12% more replies captured than a sequencer reports.
- EU hosting in Finland and Germany, GDPR-ready with data processing agreements on file, and white-glove onboarding with a free 7-day POC.
Best for
Outbound sales teams and lead generation agencies that send from many mailboxes and LinkedIn accounts and want every reply handled in one place. See Master Inbox for agencies and for outbound teams.
Works alongside
Master Inbox works alongside the tools you already run. Keep Smartlead for sending, with its sequencing, rotation and warmup, and add Master Inbox for the replies. It also connects Instantly, EmailBison, HeyReach, HubSpot as your CRM and Slack for alerts, so the stack you have keeps working.

Pricing
Per Instantly's pricing page, checked 28 October 2026, Outbound plans are Growth at $47, Hypergrowth at $97 and Light Speed at $358 per month on monthly billing, with lower per-month figures on the yearly toggle. Data Credits plans for lead data and AI agents are a separate subscription, and Instantly also sells bundles. See Instantly's pricing page for current bundle details. Instantly says no credit card is required to start free.

- LinkedIn steps run through partner integrations such as HeyReach, Aimfox and Expandi.

3. Reply.io
Reply.io is a sales engagement platform covering prospect data, multichannel outreach across email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp, reply handling and an AI SDR called Jason AI.
Key features
- A consolidated team Inbox gathers threads from all sequences and team members, covering email and LinkedIn messages, with filters for sequence, sending email, category, channel and team member.
- AI assigns an intent category to each thread: Interested, Not interested, Do not contact, Not now and Forwarded, with a Meeting intent subcategory. Custom categories can be created at team level.
- Two-way CRM sync with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Copper, plus Zapier, Make and n8n, a REST API v3, webhooks, an MCP server and a CLI.
Pricing
Reply.io prices most plans per user per month. Email Volume plans also scale with active contacts, an Agency plan is priced per month rather than per user, and extra mailboxes are sold as an add-on. A trial exists. We do not print plan prices here because they were not confirmed on Reply.io's own page when we checked on 28 October 2026. See Reply.io's pricing page for current prices.
Pros
- Email, LinkedIn, call, SMS and WhatsApp steps in one sequence builder, with condition branching.
- Jason AI can source contacts, draft or send replies from a knowledge base and book meetings.
Cons
- A sequence sends across up to 100 mailboxes, with a cap of 400 emails a day per mailbox on paid plans (200 on trial).
- SMS replies live in a separate SMS inbox.
- CRM sync runs about every 2 hours for Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive.
Best for
Sales teams and agencies that want email, LinkedIn and calling steps in one platform with a shared reply queue. Master Inbox also connects to Reply.io, so replies from it can join the rest of your stack.

- The reply composer can send as email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or SMS. Replies from different sending addresses for the same lead appear in one thread.
- lemwarm warm-up on every seat, a Deliverability Hub, a built-in lead database, 58 listed integrations, two-way HubSpot and Salesforce sync, Slack notifications and an API with webhooks.
Pricing
Per lemlist's pricing page, checked 28 October 2026, plans are per user per month. The page shows two prices for each paid plan, and the lower one sits beside a "Save 20%" marker: $69 and $55 for Email, $109 and $87 for Multichannel. Enterprise is custom. The trial is 14 days with 200 free credits, and no permanent free plan is listed.
Pros
- Email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, SMS and calls in one workflow.
Cons
- Per lemlist's help article, the Inbox shows conversations that were started in lemlist, plus campaign events and tracked activity.
- LinkedIn automation is included from the Multichannel plan upward.
- Its Unified Inbox page states up to 15 email addresses per user, depending on plan.
Best for
Sales reps, RevOps teams, founders and agencies running multichannel outbound from a single platform.

5. Salesforge
Salesforge is a cold outreach platform that combines email and LinkedIn sequences, AI personalization and an AI SDR called Agent Frank. It is part of the Forge stack with Mailforge, Infraforge, Primeforge and Warmforge for domains, mailboxes and warm-up.
Key features
- Primebox, its unified inbox for email and LinkedIn replies, is included with every subscription. It also shows replies that arrive from a different address than the one emailed, and links each message to its campaign and lead.
- AI sentiment analysis classes replies as positive, neutral or negative, and default and custom labels organize threads.
- AI reply modes are Reply as human, Co-pilot and Auto-pilot. A LinkedIn reply pauses the email side of a multichannel sequence.
- CRM integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive, folk, Attio, Breakcold and OutboundSync, plus a native Slack integration.
Pricing
Per Salesforge's pricing page, checked 28 October 2026: Pro is $40 a month billed monthly and Growth is $80 a month billed monthly. Annual billing is shown as "Get 2 Months Free". Mailboxes, workspaces and warm-up are unlimited on all plans, and Growth adds unlimited users and LinkedIn senders. Agent Frank, the AI SDR add-on, is $499 a month billed quarterly. The Growth trial is 14 days and limited to 50 contacts and 100 emails.
Pros
- The inbox is included with every subscription at no extra charge.
- No seat-based pricing: Growth has unlimited users and LinkedIn senders.
Cons
- Email volume is capped by plan at 5,000 emails a month on Pro and 50,000 on Growth.
- Pro includes 1 user and 1 LinkedIn sender, and the API and MCP server are listed on Growth.
Best for
Agencies and sales teams doing cold outreach at mailbox scale that want sending, an inbox and AI replies from one vendor.
6. Woodpecker
Woodpecker is a cold email and LinkedIn outreach tool that combines lead finding, email campaigns, LinkedIn steps, deliverability tools and integrations. Its pricing is based on emails sent per month, with unlimited team members and email accounts on every plan.
Key features
- A centralized inbox collects replies from every mailbox your campaigns send from, and each message shows which mailbox received it.
- AI reads each prospect's first reply and marks it Interested, Maybe later or Not interested. Markers can be corrected by the user.
- A detected reply stops follow-ups. With the LinkedIn add-on, LinkedIn replies appear in their own tab.
- Free email verification, free warm-up, inbox rotation, an agency panel, and integrations with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho and Slack.
Pricing
Woodpecker charges a flat monthly price by emails-sent tier, from 5,000 up to 1,000,000 emails per month, with unlimited mailboxes and team members. LinkedIn accounts and API and integrations access are sold as add-ons. The trial runs 14 days or 500 cold emails, whichever comes first, with no credit card required. We do not print prices because the dollar amounts were not visible in the rendered page text on 28 October 2026. See Woodpecker's pricing page for current prices.
Pros
- Pricing depends only on emails sent, so adding mailboxes or teammates does not change it.
Cons
- Replies sync over IMAP about every 20 minutes, and only the main inbox folder syncs.
- Inbox search covers the last two months, and each person sees only the accounts they connected.
- Integrations, API and webhooks require the API key and integrations add-on.
Best for
Sales teams, lead generation agencies and recruiters who want a cold email tool priced by volume rather than by seat or mailbox.
How to choose
Start with the job, then check how the bill scales.
- Replies from several sending tools and LinkedIn in one queue: choose Master Inbox. Read the guide to the best unified inbox for cold email and the glossary entry on reply management.
- Replacing your sending tool and its inbox together: compare Instantly, Reply.io, Lemlist, Salesforge and Woodpecker on volume limits, channels and how the bill scales.
- Staying with Smartlead for sending: keep it. Smartlead is an excellent sending tool, and Master Inbox connects to it so replies from every tool land in one place.
- Running a mix: many teams use one sending tool plus Master Inbox. The two connect to different parts of the stack and do not overlap.
Then check the pricing unit. Instantly follows email volume, Reply.io and Lemlist follow users, Salesforge and Woodpecker follow plan limits, and Master Inbox follows connected mailboxes and client workspaces with unlimited users. Frequently asked questions
Is Master Inbox the same as Smartlead's Master Inbox?
No. Smartlead's Master Inbox is the inbox inside Smartlead for replies to Smartlead campaigns. Master Inbox at masterinbox.com is a separate, standalone reply platform that reads every mailbox across every tool.
Do I have to stop using Smartlead to use Master Inbox?
No. Most teams keep Smartlead for sending and use Master Inbox for the replies. Master Inbox connects to Smartlead and shows its replies next to those from your other tools.
What is the best alternative to Smartlead's Master Inbox for cold email replies?
Master Inbox is built for that job. It gathers email and LinkedIn replies from Smartlead, Instantly, EmailBison, HeyReach and more into one AI-labeled inbox, with unlimited users on every plan.
Which alternatives are priced per seat?
Reply.io prices most plans per user, and lemlist prices per user per month. Salesforge and Woodpecker use flat plans with usage limits, and Instantly prices by subscription. Master Inbox is priced on connected mailboxes and client workspaces, with unlimited users on every plan.
Does Smartlead's Master Inbox include LinkedIn replies?
In the documentation we reviewed, LinkedIn is not part of Smartlead's Master Inbox, and Smartlead's blog says LinkedIn steps can be added through its HeyReach and Aimfox integrations.
