Social Selling

Social selling is the practice of using social platforms, primarily LinkedIn in a B2B context, to build relationships with prospects through content, engagement, and direct outreach rather than relying solely on cold email or cold calls. It blends personal brand building with direct prospecting.

Why it matters for outbound teams

Reps who post and engage consistently on LinkedIn tend to see warmer responses to their outreach, since a prospect who has already seen their name or content is more receptive than one encountering it for the first time. Social selling is a longer-term investment than a single outbound campaign, building familiarity that supports every other channel a rep uses. It works best as a complement to structured outbound, not a replacement for it.
