Multichannel Outreach

Multichannel outreach is a prospecting approach that combines two or more channels, most commonly email and LinkedIn, within a single coordinated sequence to reach a prospect through more than one touchpoint. Touches are typically staggered so a LinkedIn connection request or InMail reinforces an email sent a few days earlier.

Why it matters for outbound teams

Prospects who see a name across two channels are generally more likely to recognize and respond to it than one who only receives a single email, which is the main reasoning behind multichannel outreach. It does add complexity, since replies can now arrive through channels a team may not be monitoring as closely as their primary inbox. Coordinating a multichannel sequence usually requires either a tool built to manage both channels or manual handoff between an email sequencer and a LinkedIn tool.
