Sequence
A sequence is a predefined series of outbound touches, such as an initial email followed by scheduled follow-ups, sent to a prospect over a set period of time according to a fixed cadence. A sequence can be single-channel, email only, or multichannel, combining email with LinkedIn or phone touches.
Why it matters for outbound teams
Sequences let a team apply a consistent, tested outreach pattern across an entire list rather than manually deciding when to follow up with each prospect. Most replies to cold outbound arrive after the second or third touch, not the first, which is why sequences with several follow-ups generally outperform single emails. A sequence stops automatically for a given prospect once they reply, so a positive response does not get buried by a scheduled follow-up.
