Email Warmup
Email warmup is the process of gradually increasing send volume and engagement on a new mailbox, often using automated warmup networks that exchange emails and mark them as good, to build sender reputation before the mailbox is used for cold outreach. It typically runs for two to four weeks before full-volume sending begins.
Why it matters for outbound teams
A brand-new mailbox with no sending history looks suspicious to spam filters, and sending cold outreach at full volume immediately can permanently damage deliverability. Warmup builds a track record of legitimate-looking activity so inbox providers trust the domain. Skipping warmup is one of the most common reasons new sending domains land in spam instead of the inbox.
